Though most au pairs are trained but their pay is probably 30% - 40% of a doctor's pay. Au pairs are very reliable as they have to go through Criminal Records Bureau checks. Your friends being specialists in a private hospital should be very, very well paid to be able to afford 2 au pairs, send their children to private schools and live very comfortably. It is a shame it didn't work out for them because if you ask me, education here is excellent.
