Agent 007
The name is Blond, James Blond.. introducing the latest agent 007, Daniel Craig in the next Bond movie Casino Royale, scheduled to be released on 17th Nov 2006. The 6th actor to portray Agent 007 is also the first blond 007, amidst controversial among the Double-Oh Seven die-hard fans. Wah, even before the film is released, certain quarters are already calling for boycotting of the film, just because the actor has blond hair!
I may have watched his excellent acting in Lara Croft : Tomb Raider (2001), however I must admit that I find Craig a bit odd to be agent 007. No, not because of the color of his hair. There is something about him that is lacking, James Bond’s charismaperhaps? Saw him in a 30 seconds sneak preview of Casino Royale in local cinema and can’t find any oomph in him. Too early to judge though, let’s wait for movie to hit the silver screen and hope he will prove his critics wrong..
Pierce Brosnan.. brought to fame by TV series Remington Steel, is my favorite Bond so far. I find him so damned good looking and ahem..very s** appealing..Ha! 4 Bond movies made him a household name and a very stereotyped Bond. Our very own Datuk Michelle Yeoh becomes an international Hollyhood fame after starring against the sex symbol in Tomorrow Never Dies. Brosnan revives my love for Bond movies after a bad entry and exit of Timothy Dalton!
Sir Roger George Moore, is so far the longest serving James Bond actor, having starred in 7 Bond movies and before that, made popular by TV series The Saint, portraying detective Simon Templar. I can’t recall ever watched The Saint which was popular in the 1960s. (probably because I was not born yet). I watched most of his Bond movies in videos.
George Lazenby, another Bond actor? This name doesn’t ring a bell to me. I did a google search and found out that the one and only Bond movie he ever starred was On Her Majesty’s Secret Service in 1969. (No wonder, I wasn’t even born yet). He was the 2nd actor to portray 007 after the famous Sean Connery and wasn’t very successful judging from the fact that only one Bond movie was made out of him and Sean Connery re-played 007 role in 1971 (Diamonds are Forever).
The first James Bond, Sir Thomas Sean Connery starred in 7 Bond movies. As defined in Wikipedia, Connery is still widely regarded as the definitive cinematic incarnation of James Bond, despite popular interpretations of the character by the likes of Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan. Handsome he may be, but do you know that he wore toupee in all the 007 movies? And yet, he has repeatedly mentioned and award as one of the most attractive men alive by many magazines. He was so popular as agent 007 that all his other non-Bond movies then were virtually ignored.

Sean Connery (1962 - 1967, 1971)
One thing I notice about all the actors portraying James Bond, when one is a success, the immediate successor will not be as successful. Will Daniel Craig create another history in the box office or will his fate make a twist turn? Let’s wait and see…
