Meebo Dot Com, The 4-in-1 Instant Messaging Website

August 7, 2006

Can’t access instant messaging from office? YM, MSN going crazy? Worry no more. Meebo comes to the rescue. Meebo is a web-based application for instant messaging that can let you have access to your IM from anywhere. It supports MSN, Yahoo, Google Talk/Gmail chat or Jabber, AOL/AIM or ICQ all in one webpage. You can log in all your IM and your buddies from all instant messaging will appear in ONE list. And no need installation.

I have tried using it for a week, so far no problem except for a few hiccups on network interruption which happen far too frequent and quite irritating.

I am so used to Yahoo Messenger that I find Meebo does not have many features which Yahoo has or maybe I may have not fully explored it yet. I guess the owners are still improving the features because there is a features request topic in their forum. Well, I can’t complain much for something which is free of charge and it is an optional form of access to my IM.

Check it out.

And the newly launched Meebo Me Widget thingy..hmm.. I am still exploring it. It is an embeddable IM widget that you can put on your website! Well, it supports almost all free website (but I read somewhere that it can’t be applied on Xanga sites, not too sure about that). And enables you to see  who are visiting your web page and chat with them online if you’d like. I have tried but the chat box keeps appearing at the center, right at the bottom of my blog. (Scroll right down and you will see the chat box). Gotta check with the moderators, or anyone can help this IT blur sotong? It would be better if my guests at my blog can chat with each other.. hmm..

Do check out this new widget which has created a whole new user base sensation in the chatting world..
